All these questions will be answered; you just need to grab your copy of the novel series The Underland Chronicles and enjoy the adventurous ride.

The writer Suzanne Collins was inspired by Alice in the Wonderland when she thought of writing The Underland Chronicles but being on a more realistic side she made the little boy land not in a fairytale world but an entirely different place that is the Underland. The initiative of an Underland is an idea of a stonemason of Sandwich came to New York with a group of people when he saw this Underland in his dream. He had this believe that one day the Earth will come to an end so there is a need to build a city underneath the ground. It took 50 years of hard work to build this city and to seal the gates to the Overland. Deliberately 5 openings were left unsealed to have a connection with the land above.

The land that was chosen by Sandwich and his 800 group members was occupied by giant star nosed moles (Diggers) who were not ready to share their land. The water supply was poisoned in order to defeat the Diggers and since then the other living creatures who lived in the Underland named humans as Killers.

The Underland Chronicles is a river of adventure that flows through the five books of the action packed series.
